General Description
The shells of this species are large, very heavy, circular in outline and somewhat inflated. Exterior cream, may be tinged with colour at rounded apex (umbonal area), interior white. Exterior sculpture of numerous fine concentric ridges, spaces between ridges narrow, wider towards margins. Shell up to 7 cm across.
Biology
This species is preyed upon by sea snails (gastropod species in the family Naticidae and Muricidae), sea stars and fish.
Habitat
In sand, at depths between 5 and 15 m.
