General Description
Shells of this species are characterised by the exterior sculpture of numerous, strong, well-defined, inwardly curved concentric ridges. Valve shape is more or less triangular with posterior margin straight and other margins rounded. Exterior shell colour cream with radial rays of fawn or pink. Interior shell white, may be with splashes of pink or purple. Shell up to 4 cm across.
Biology
This species is preyed upon by sea snails (gastropod species in the family Naticidae and Muricidae), sea stars and fish.
Habitat
On sandy sea floors.
