General Description
Flattened oval shaped body with 8 shell sections (valves) surrounded by a fleshy girdle. Red-brown to black in colour. Up to 1 cm long.
Biology
This small chiton clings to the underside of rocks in sandy to muddy areas.
Habitat
Under rocks, often those in mud, to depth of 20 m.
