General Description
Body robust, tapering gradually; head broad, slightly depressed with a prominent chin barbel; first dorsal fin short-based, second dorsal and anal fins long-based. Dark brown with fine white margin to dorsal and anal fins, body paler below. To 20 cm.
Biology
This nocturnal species hides under ledges during the day, venturing out to feed at night.
Habitat
In bays and shallow coastal waters, on rocky reefs in depths 0-25 m.
