General Description
Head large, bony, with long spines projecting from the snout, back of the head, and from the gill cover above the pectoral fin; scales tiny. Reddish above, inner surface of fan-like pectoral fins bluish with yellowish bands or spots, a thin white margin and white edged black spots or oval patches on the rear of the fin. To 62 cm.
Biology
Commercially trawled along the southern coast.
Habitat
In deeper parts of bays and along the coast, on sandy or muddy bottoms, in depths of 5-420 m.
