General Description
A purple to beige sponge species with spherical to conulose form. Size of about 15 cm.
Biology
These sponges are often covered with a fine layer of sand grains. They belong to the class Demospongiae, a group that accounts for approximately 85% of all living sponge species.
Habitat
Sand and muddy areas, to depth of 10 m.
