General Description
Rostrum very slender, with 2-3 dorsal teeth, with 1-2 ventral teeth. Carapace with small spine above orbit of eye. Fifth segment of second leg with 3 articles. Legs without gills (arthrobranchs). Abdominal somite 6 without articulating posterolateral corner. Up to 1.5 cm long.
Biology
The little shrimp lives among algae and seagrass from the subtidal down to 80 m depth throughout southern Australia. Although the species is commonly dredged in sheltered shelf water little is known of its biology. Like all carideans the female carries the eggs under the abdomen which is more swollen than in males.
