General Description
Shells of this species are large, quite solid, more or less circular in outline. Exterior cream colour, sometimes with tinges of brown or orange at rounded apex (umbonal area), interior white. Exterior sculpture of numerous fine concentric ridges, may be somewhat irregular towards margins and posterior, spaces between ridges narrow. Shell up to 4 cm across.
Biology
This species is preyed upon by sea snails (gastropod species in the family Naticidae and Muricidae), sea stars and fish.
Habitat
Usually in sand or mud areas.
