General Description
Body slender, head depressed with several distinctive, vertical, horizontal, transverse, and oblique raised flaps, transverse flap behind each eye long; eyes close together. Brown with thin brown lines forming a reticulated pattern, upper half of pectoral fin black, females with white spots on dorsal fins and caudal fin. To 14 cm.
Biology
Difficult to distinguish from the related species C. mucosus.
Habitat
Shallow coastal rocky reefs, in depths of 0-30 m.
